Default Re: Carbon Creations DriTech GTR Hood

So I have the Seibon CF GTR hood with functioning vents, I had it installed when my car got hit and was in the shop for repairs. The fitment is pretty good, but it has those integrated kidney grills and I hate them because they don't look/fit like OEM and that pisses me off. I really wanted a Vorsteiner but at the time it was not an option so I settled for Seibon, looking back I have mixed emotions on the situation.

If I could ever swap the Seibon for a Vorsteiner I'd do it in a heart beat because I like the vents and it helps my velocity stacks function; truth be told I wish I had gone OEM until I could have found a Vorsteiner.

Is it just the angle and lighting of the picture or is the center hump in the hood also more aggressive?

I don't think it's more aggressive so much as it is the fact that the edge isn't a smooth transition like OEM, it's more of a harsh/sharp angle.....yet another thing I dislike about this hood.

Just out of curiosity are you able to pop out the slats/vents for just an open hole for track days?

That is exactly what I meant by aggressive. Honestly, I kind of like it on your car/color. I feel like the integrated kidney grills could only be pulled off on a black car. Any other color and it just wouldn't look right. I wonder why they decided to do that.

Currently have Flossmann myself and PerkM3. Fitment is spot on. Finish... its made for a racecar and will require some body work when you get it painted, but for the fitment and quality I would say its among the best GTR hoods for the E46 market.

Shoot me a PM if you have any questions or possibly interested in purchasing one.

PerkM3 is an outstanding resource and forum member. Totally vouch for him as well. The Flossmann GTR hood seems like the way to go if you want a GTR hood, from what I have seen on here.

I did this not too long ago. I didn't feel like paying for a new hood that wouldn't really reduce weight.
