Default 0-100 in 4.6?? Anyone able to achieve this??

I have an 08 M3 with the dinan engine software upgrade and the OEM Performance Steering wheel. Using the steering wheel, it can accurately time my 0-100 km times. However, in numerous numerous tries, fastest I've been able to get is 5.4 seconds. I'm no where close!

So I went online and tried to find videos to improve my launch but in all the videos I've seen, they are all well above the 5 second mark too.

Can anyone share their experience with their launching?

I've had many mechanical issues with my car, so I'm worried my engine could be malfunctioning and not producing as much power as it should be for whatever reason.

Should I be in M-DCT mode, or have the DCT completely off?

Yes. DTC complete off.
Otherwise you'll never hit the 5 seconds.

Guys, instead of giving your 2 cents on something the OP NEVER asked such as "these cars aren't meant to... don't drag race...0-60 doesn't mean anything... I'm from the motorcycle world... etc". Try to answer the question at hand; what does the OP have to do to reach his target 4.6 sec 0-100km.

If you check out Tiff's review of the M3 (around the 2:00 min mark) he does a couple of launches in different settings w/ the DCT - and he points out the fastest launch. Hope this helps

Just curious. Are your power settings set to 11?

"DCT off?" Shut the dual clutch off? Don't you mean shut off the DCP???

Follow this procedure to achieve the best possible 0-60 time:

a. Turn off all accessories (e.g. A/C, Radio, Waffle Iron, etc.).
b. Ensure you only have the minimum amount of gas in the tank (weight = time).
c. Remove all aftermarket accessories like painted reflectors, those suckers add about 10mg of weight to the car.
d. Use the restroom prior to attempting your speed run. Evacuate all bodily fluids and solids.
e. Kick out any passengers.
f. Remove the cigarette lighter, that's another 70mg of weight right there.
g. Empty your pockets. God knows what you have in there, which could be another pound or two.
h. Check the trunk for dead bodies or any other non essentials. Remove as needed.
I. Close all windows, sunroofs, the trunk and the hood.
j. Wash your car immediately before attempting your run. Be sure to remove all the dead bees from the A/C condenser (good for 20-60mg of weight)
k. Pack the drag cute and verify the opening mechanism
l. Check the wheelie bar
m. Remove the front wheels and install schwinn 10-speed wheels (this is great for a reduction of weight and friction)
n. Do multiple burn-outs to get the rear tires nice and warm. You know when you have reached the tire's optimal temperature when you can visibly see the rubber melting
o. Point the car down a long and steep hill
p. Rev motor, dump the clutch and off you go!

This should be good for a 0-60 time of around 4 seconds, depending on the steepness of the hill.

After your speed run, immediately turn on your waffle iron. There is nothing worse than having cold waffles after a hard workout....

Hm.... 5.4 sec it looks funny to me. I got on my stock 10.2003 E46 M3 coupe SMG a 5.13 sec on asphalt and 4.55 sec on concrete with no special preparations, just the DSC off and a decent launch control ... I would have bet that the E 92 is capable of 4.7 manual and 4.5 DKG on asphalt and close to 4 on better surface ...
