Default Where does this bumper cover shim go?

hi,

Does anyone know what #12 (shim) goes when building up a new bumper cover?
http://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/show...diagId=51_2758

My grill insert was hacked together with glue and I do not see any shims.

Anyone?

Thanks!
Joe

Never seen that and itís not for the grill. Note that it says two. The grill mesh retention is; 64111364257

I would not use #12.

Thanks. I bought a few in case I needed them. I'll just leave them off then.
BTW, I "borrowed" your method of using rivnuts for the underpanel. Works a peach. Much better than the hardware supplied by Motion.

Wow..!, I hadn't realised that our M3 was in the classic car section on the parts supplier site.

Joe, I know what the shims are for.

US plate mounting with the holed impact strip.
