Default Titanium Exhaust Goodie Questions

Whats up guys,

Randomly ended up buying a Dixis titanium exhaust . So far I'm a big fan of the sound, but still on the fence about keeping it or selling it, but would like some opinions in helping me make the decision. My car is stock header/section 1 & 2. Heres a dirty ass picture for now.

Question are:

1. What pairs well with this exhaust? Wouldn't mind a little bit of the rasp being eliminated to be honest. Does a section 2 justify the price or does AR25 do the exact same thing with no drawbacks, for less? If so, do I need two or one? How are they installed?

2. Is it better to just leave it as is?

3. If I end up selling it, any other brands that are pretty good? (Maybe Dinan)

4. Yes I've listened to videos, they sound different on a computer. Want some real world opinions.

Cheers

Default Re: Titanium Exhaust Goodie Questions

Pretty much no, then yes to your first question. Install an ar25 next to stock one in sect 1. Stock sect 2 is so well made (for street car), supersprint can only improve upon it by increasing diameter by an eighth inch & only if your engine is so tuned, you need more flow. If you have $ to spend, get ss stepped and oversized sect 1. Catted or resonated for more refined sound or straight for most hardcore (in tone, not necessarily volume, though that goes up, esp with race type sect 3).

So a really cheap choice vs expensive lol.

Catless headers? If not, that's best exh sound mod you can do.

One of my absolute favorites. If you want to make a ROI, you should be able to if you resold it. At the same time, this is one of those rare mufflers that If you sell it, you might not find another again (or at least not at a friendly price). My car is stock header/section 1 & 2. Heres a dirty ass picture for now.

Question are:

1. What pairs well with this exhaust? Headers pairs very well with this muffler. I'd recommend the Supersprint V1 Stepped headers, but all the aftermarket or euro headers will sounds great compared to the stock US-spec headers. Wouldn't mind a little bit of the rasp being eliminated to be honest. Either a resonated section 2 or you can add resonators to the section 1. Does a section 2 justify the price or does AR25 do the exact same thing with no drawbacks, for less? If so, do I need two or one? Depending on the section 2, both can accomplish more or less the same thing regarding rasp. Some guys have both a resonated section 2 and resonators installed into the section 1. Cats will also help baffle the resonance. For a section 2, I'd recommend the twin-piped Supersprint section 2. It's future proof in terms of flow capacity and it does an AWESOME job at cutting out rasp and drone (at least in my setup). When I had a resonated X-pipe with a RE muffler (similar to your muffler, just not Ti) the drone increased and rasp only incrementally went down. How are they installed?

2. Is it better to just leave it as is? Leave what as is? With that muffler, Personally, I think headers and a resonated something is a must.

3. If I end up selling it, any other brands that are pretty good? (Maybe Dinan)Dinan is good, Supersprint is good, Scorza is good....Lot's of good options. It would be better to know what you are trying to accomplish with sound/tone, volume, rasp tolerances, and power goals. lots of good options out there. The negative with the Dinan is the dummy tips. That being said, if you got this muffler at a good price, you can probably make a decent profit on reselling it. This Dixis muffler is one of the more rare options for this platform and thus usually commands hefty resale price.

4. Yes I've listened to videos, they sound different on a computer. Want some real world opinions. Yep. Cell phone recordings that are then played back on lower audio quality speakers (cell phone, ear buds, laptop speakers, etc... Rarely sound true to life.

Cheers
Just my opinion, take it with a grain of salt. SWEET muffler though. Not that it necessarily matters, but I agree with TBone's post. =)
