Default Side Emblems different?

Hey guys,

So I purchased new moldings for the M3 from Tischer BMW.

When I opened up the package, I found the NEW side molding have the following emblems:



While the original old set has this:



Can anyone tell me what the difference is? And which is period correct for 99 M3 vert?

You're not ordering the correct part.

M Sport and Motorsport are not the same thing. The badge you received is for an M Sport appearance package. You own a Motorsport 3-series.

The correct part number is: 51132251381

I didn’t order just the emblem, I ordered the following “M Side Molding Kit”:

82-11-9-403-140

Is this my only option, and then to switch out the emblems?

I swear, I tried RealOem... and still couldn’t get it right.

Your ‘original’ badge isn’t original to begin with. This is the original M3 sidebadge:
