Default How to remove back panel of front seats? For kid's kick pad...

Searched for a while and couldn't find anything worthwhile - maybe it is there and I missed it, but 15 minutes of searching didn't yield anything.

Long story short....i want to remove the hard portion on the rear of the front seat to make a cleaner set up for a 'kick pad' on the back of my seat so my daughter doesn't scuff it up.

They attach by strapping to the headrest and around the bottom of the seat (all the way around the front seats at the very bottom), but don't think it will look very clean and it may wear the leather over time...So I want to wrap it around the seat back instead of the whole seat.

If anyone knows how to remove pls post up - I know some people have installed the CF fabric on the seat backs, so hoping there is a DIY.

Or, if anyone has any good recommendations on better kick pads to use, let me know. None have gotten very good reviews - this one seems to protect best but won't fit around many seats (based on user feedback on Amazon), but I am sure it would fit around the seat back piece I am trying to remove.

you gotta cut the 2 black plastic rivets on the bottom of the back panel.

if you raise the seat all the way up, you will see 2 plastic push clips. They are a b**** to get off and I ended up breaking them off and buying new ones. But if you want to take them off correctly, pull them straight down, but it will take alot of force to get them out. After those are out, slide the back panel down (towards the floor) about 1-2 inches and the seats pulls right off.

Where can we buy those push clips separately? The 'repair kit' cost $30+, and I don't even need most of the component, just need the christmas tree clips...

Or is there any generic sized push clips that we can buy from eBay? I am usually not a fan of generic parts, but for a clip underneath the seat that I probably won't even touch for the rest of the life, I wouldn't mind going cheap.

You're a good man, my father would have blown a gasket if I kicked his seat while he was driving. Matter of fact I think I remember doing it and he yelled at me for it; learned that lesson quickly lol

oceansize those might work but I don't think they are the exact part, I'll have my guys dig around in the diagrams to try to find them.

THIS thread goes further than you're looking to go but it also covers removing the backs.

-James

PS: my kids wrecked the seat backs in the wagon, I should have wrapped them in something like you're doing.
