I figured I would switch towards the end of the year because I wanted to get detuned for NASA TT4. However, because of the below results I decided to move to Epic now.

Mods:
-AFE drop in filter
-BW elbow
-Euro headers
-SG resonated section 1
-BW Street/Track exhaust with custom rear section (added two bends and a Borla muffler)
-TTFS tune
-AZ 91 octane

Looking into a new tune...
The power numbers don't really bother me although they seem a little low. My car does have 182k miles. What I didn't like is where the AFR's are. I don't want to replace another head gasket or kill the motor.

Don't really post too much in this sekshun here, but stumbled across this thread (becuz anything TTFS catches my eye-lol), and figured I'd stick my nose in it. Your car (saw the dyno on the next page btw) seems a little (maybe a lot) down on power, and your AFR's look a little on the lean side as well... both of which are not typical of Frank's tune. I would say that it looks like your tune isn't paired well w/your existing mods? Was this a canned tune or live dyno session? Frank has updated his tune since the last two yrs. and was wondering if you bothered reaching out to him?

If you are looking for a real race car tune where in most cases you are de-tuning to fit a power to weight class then Epic is the only option in my opinion. I'm not sure how much de-tuning work the others have done if any to my knowledge.
Accurate post Brad, but I think that anyone (tuner) that understands how engines work could also safely 'de-tune' a motor no problem.

This is kind of a std. response from any tuner that's current on tuning track cars. It's not black magic here fellas...any competent tuner can tune for power and reliability. If one is more critical over the other, and the tuner made aware, then no reason why a tuner still can't extract decent power while maintaining reliability.

I also think that now more than ever, with forums, facebook groups etc, that being cautious to not push a client's engine to the limit is a big factor. I've heard of many people actually getting turned away from tuners bc their cars arent set up right.. mostly in the honda/evo/sti world.. not so much with us.

Of course, I'm sure that most are aware that social media reaches as far (if not farther) than forums nowadays. I know for a fact that Frank has turned folks away for a variety of reasons...the juice just ain't worth the squeeze sometimes.

Have run my TTFS tune for over a year now, 3 HPDE weekends. I’m very happy with how hard the car pulls - I’ve had the same instructor for 2 of those events and every session he comments on how strong the car feels (he drives an almost identical M3 just minus the tune). Also, Frank has been super helpful and patient as we work through a “secondary air flow insufficient bank 2” code that keeps popping after I dropped on the aFe intake. He’s taken a lot of time to explain how everything works with the tune and has even coded out the low temp warning that you get with the Motorsports thermostat.

Bottom line: car runs great, pulls hard and the customer service is fantastic.
