1) First, I removed the accumulator to eliminate the awkward shape of the pump for an easy disassembly.
To remove the accumulator you will need to turn the 17mm nut at the end of the component.
Be very careful when removing the accumulator as the nut on the end can snap off easily.




I recommend proceeding with the disassembly in a plastic tub to catch the leftover hydraulic fluid.

















When removing the Solenoids, make sure to label each one so you won't mix them up when reinstalling.

























I decided to clean the coupler, housing gasket, housing piece, screws and HCU block.























Inner Gear Shaft Seal Wear: (SMG 97,000 Miles 2006 M3)



































If you are NOT replacing your accumulator, make sure you replace the O-Ring on the thread of the accumulator.







My SMG unit has been relocated to the 'drug bin' and be I will be proceeding to install the Burkhart motor from the drug bin.

I saw this listing too, but for an extra $79 it only includes enough seals to refurbish one of the four solenoids. SMG Society offers replacement solenoid seals for $13/set ($52 for all four solenoids).

I’m going to work on bringing together a complete SMG Pump rebuild kit including the 12 replacement internal solenoid seals, 4 main external solenoid seals, the two odd shaped internal pump seals and the external pump o ring (attached to the Bosch pump internal unit). We shouldn’t have to purchase a 180 piece o-ring kit from harbor freight and test fit different seals just to rebuild these HCU’s.

Didn't you also have a DIY for the relocation kit? I thought I saw that but can't seem to find it. My relocation kit is on the way as well.

good job. Did you replace the large O ring on the bottom of the pump and the small O ring on the pressure relief valve? I didn't see that mentioned on the post. Also a updated hydraulic fluid pressure decay live data test results would be much appreciated.
