Default Numba 10 - Byzanz Sedan Auto - Got Lucky

Like the title says, this is Number 10. This is the 10th BMW E36 M3 I have owned and I will never buy another. I've said that before. I am very lucky to have gotten this car. Anil (shop owner fremonteuropean.com) was selling this Byzanz for an old Japanese lady and I was the first to respond and he honored that. I'll later spank him for lies but I was still lucky to get the car. After a quick test drive, I made an offer. Anil said, "if I don't pay asking price, 20 other guys are waiting behind me." Maybe that's not true but given all variables, I believed him. "Ok. I'll take it." Per MMMGP's work, there are only 88 of these in the US in 1997 (120 world-wide) so I believe I made the right decision. Oddly, this is the 2nd Byzanz I've owned. The first one was trashed and sun-baked which makes this a dream to work on. See link. http://www.m3forum.net/m3forum/showt...t=byzanz+sedan

It was parked in a garage for it's whole life and it shows. My plan is to refresh this nice sedan with 76,017 miles on it. Not a rebuild. Just a refresh to maintain it's current value. The left front fender was repainted. The color matches but the bodywork is not beautiful underneath. All original matching VINs are present. It is all original after nearly 23 years. Even the windshield is original. There are lots of projects I will do but nothing too significant. It has nicks and dings here and there but the paint is excellent. Byzanz cars are typically beat because they were mostly Auto Transmissions. I don't plan to drive it much so it should keep it's value.

Thanks. I'm glad to be back in an E36 M3. You're the one with the Amazing combo. You can see I never found one so I settled on a Boston Green on Grey per my signature.

Welcome back, Eric! Anxious to see more of it. You should bring it to Radwood next month.
