the Miata's owned the track that day tbh. there were a few Porsche 911s and even a Challenger Hellcat out there (he was actually giving people a run for their money - even with the weight).

My buddy brought his Mustang GT350 as well.

i just might need a tiny bit of camber adjustment in the rear lol

Next up, i decided to tackle the Porsche 996 Big Brake Kit upgrade. A big thank you is in order to the various threads and sources of information on this forum.

Over a few months, i collected the materials and items needed for this upgrade. I found a full set of Porsche calipers on Craigslist for only $400 cash.

First up I found a local machine shop to get the mounting boss trimmed down.

After that, i tracked down P0lar for a set of his rear brackets, bolts and brake sensors. Great guy to do work with.

Next up, i focussed on rebuilding the calipers to make sure they were ready for use. the seals and pistons were in pretty good shape with the exception of one caliper.

i think the anti-rattle clip rusted into the caliper piston on one of them. that meant that at least on of the calipers needed a full rebuild. i ordered new pistons and seals from Centric.

beyond the rebuild portion, i definitely wanted to refinish the whole set. the OEM Porsche powerdercoat was chipped and imperfect in places. In addition, i really wanted to have a nice pop of color to compliment the theme of the build. here's more of that yellow i warned you guys about...

Full refinish:
- chemical striping the old finish
- sanding and wire-brushing away all old debris
- automotive 2-stage primer
- PPG base coat
- high quality automotive clear coat
- new Brembo decals (i also put an additional coat of clear over the decals once installed to lock them in)

i decided to go with the 2-piece rotors from ECS Tuning. Yes, i think they are overpriced...but they look so nice! given the steep mark-up, you'd think ECS Tuning would take better care of their products and packaging - the boxes came really beat up.

Anyways, after having the rotors in hand...they are really really nice and the build quality seems top notch.

broke out the air tool cut-off wheel to trim down the dust shields at all four corners then cleaned the hub assembles to remove old rust/corrosion before installing the new rotors...

P0lar brackets going on with some thread locker...
