It is possible that something was wrong with my particular MSS54, since I can't find any obvious differences between the two DMEs with the MAP signal pin.
I see Terra. Is there a way you could test on another dme?

I don't really feel like buying another MSS54.

I could probably donate mine after I get the MSS54HP up and running.

This would a huge service to the community. I think that there are some of us that don't care about the flap, but would love to run CSL software for the map/rail/intake.

Seems like HPs are getting harder/more expensive to find.

I've since confirmed that there are indeed hardware differences. I'm in progress of testing out a fix, I'm just waiting on a couple parts to arrive. I'll post some details if I'm successful.

Ok, just a word of warning for anyone that thinks they can do this even if you are good at soldering ... The H bridge is bloody hard to solder on. I have managed to get mine done myself but it is anything but pretty.

The heat sink nature of the H bridge means the moment the iron touches any part of the board, chip or pins it instantly loses heat. Flux gel didn't help for me, neither did turning up the temperature or using larger sized tips.

I honestly think this H bridge can't be done perfectly by hand or heat ... It needs a proper reflow oven for a perfect connection and pretty looking joints.

Whilst mine works for now, I have no idea how long those joints will last or how well it is transfering heat into the board during operation.

So unless anyone has any tips on how to solder this properly, tread with caution if you are attempting this on your own.

using Hot air would help. or better yet mask off the surrounding components with kapton tape / foil, preheat the section of board top and bottom with hot air or better yet 2 hot air one for top and one for bottom before you turn the heat up slow on top to get it to flow.
