Default Restraint System Fault and recall - UK

Hello chaps!

My E93 has a "restraint system fault" and the message appears on the dash every 30 seconds and is driving me mad. Dropped into the dealership today and they took an hour to look and the car and then tell me it needs a whole day to resolve the problem. Involves taking the doors panels off or something.

They then tell me that there is a recall due. Software update only but it is a safety issue? Anyone else had this and what is it for?

Still love the car though. Stopped at traffic lights today and the lads in the car next to me asked me to rev engine so they could listen to that lovely V8 sound!! Made me smile!
