[QUOTE=anthony @ eas;1064466963]Yes, all of the wheels on that TiAg e46 are Gunmetal VB3s (19x8.5, 19x10.0). Gunmetal is slightly darker than the stock OEM 18"s, but it is hard to compare the two finishes because the OEM 18"s are hyperblack- depending on the lighting, hyper black can look very bright or very dark.

[QUOTE]

can you post this wheel in 18" and hyperblack ?

i want to compare sizing of its features and shape to the 19 and see the hyperblack color in detail ...

been in touch with VMR directly to find out more about their wheels.

gravity cast alloy, i assume aluminum.

that's like using ceramic dishes for wheels on a red wagon and riding it on a sidewalk ....

i believe BBS uses high pressure for their cast wheels, which packs the alloy more densely (i.e. stronger).

although they look great, won't approach this, even in 18" sizes because tri-state area roads are harsh enough for forged wheels as it is.

This is very false info. Before making claims saying VMR wheels are like using ceramic dishes I would do some more research. I've been on 19" VMR Wheels driving through Downtown Los Angeles, Venice Beach and worse areas in the local areas on a weekly basis with no issues for the last TWO years. Several members can contest that they're excellent wheels as well. If you have any more claims, please direct them via Private message to me directly, or my email to ensure that the info you're posting is correct.

i'm not making a claim, i'm drawing an analogy. there are so many people out there that have damaged OEM wheels (forged). it's an engineering fact that a cast piece of metal will be weaker than a forged piece of metal. i'm a mechanical engineer so i know. the bottom line here is the manufacturing process, and how this the lattice structure of the metal settles when the alloy is cooled. maybe these wheels are heat treated to harden the material, maybe they are not, i don't know for sure.

if VMR can tell you what type of alloy is used, i can tell you how strong the wheel really is.

more than likely, the same exact alloy that is pressure cast or semi-forged or roll-forged will be much stronger than a gravity-cast alloy of the same material.

i have experience with bent wheels in different sizes/tire combos with other brands, but BBS has never given me an issue with their cast wheels.
