The difference between the two cars is two doors. There is no weight penalty for the sedan. They weight exactly the same and perform exactly the same.

Both are same. IMO the only diff is the sedan is more efficiant and the coupe is sexier

the sedan doesn't have vaders from factory...the seats are boring, true.

Some people like the sedan because of the added rigidity from the b pillars. That's prob more for track gurus' concern though.

I went for the sedan because it is just as fast, handles just as nicely, as has more usable space. Personally, I think the sedan looks just as good, if not better, as long as it has some kind of wing on the trunk. I like the e46 m3 wing myself, or the factory wing...nothing else. Sedans are rarer too, which may potentially get a few more hundred bucks at resale that the couples..maybe.

Sedans have the same performance, but I would think you'd be faster in a Coupe around the track. The reason... no side bolsters on the sedan's seat. I sat in a new 330 sedan with the sport package yesterday. Talk about an improved seat. I am thinking of chucking my sedan seat. Overall, I prefer the looks of the sedan and the framed windows are a plus too.

I don't think the seats are that big a deal...it's more of a comfort thing unless you are talking some serious g-forces, probably beyond the stock suspension limits of the m3...

The seats are a huge factor for me. Black Vaders are my fav. seats of all time and I'd never drive an E36 w/out them. That's just me <- Vader Honk.

I really think the seats in an aggressive street situation make a big difference. The sedan seats are sub standard when it comes to feeding back what the car is doing when you start pushing it. Anyone know what else will bolt up and still offer electric adjustments and heat? Was there a High bolstered Euro sedan seat?

What?

Even at the autoX level sliding around in the seat is a huge issue.
