Correct. Well, we assume it's far more durable. Too soon to tell yet.

I still plan to replace mine again when I reach 200,000 miles!

Jtrem had a nice review, and it gave me confidence that the pump was made with quality. I called Pelican Auto parts and the customer service was amazing. The agent confirmed the web page typo and the pump is with a metal impeller. The cost is 310 with a gasket and free shipping. she advised me that they had the o-ring for the thermostat housing for an additional 5 bucks, so why not. I figured I should throw a set of underdrive pulleys on while I had it tore down. Here is the best part.... The car already has a set of Victory Pulleys installed. All of my irritation over the pump failure is out the window!

Glad I could help. Pelican is fantastic too. They have saved my butt on many occasions. (Helps being local!)

You shouldn't have any problems with the Saleri pump. Mine is going strong and so are the other two I have installed for locals. One is even on track only e46. Guy had to replace several OEM units and was tired of picking plastic out of his block and radiator. After that he went with the Saleri as per my recommendation.

I know its easy for some of these guys to bash a product that they have never personally used or seen. I usually go with what I feel is the best. I had the chance to view all three pumps available at pelican and no way in hell was I walking away with the OEM pump.

Lasso and the Saleri were basically one in the same. The OEM pump had more play in the shaft when new and had a plastic impeller.

It's not like Saleri is some crap hole in the wall manufacture. They make replacement parts for Ferrari's and other high end cars.

Based out of Italy and the pump was actually stamped made in Germany on mine.

Some guys will only run OEM for everything. I'm not one of them. I go with what it the best for the car. If I feel its OEM I go with OEM. If its not I go with something else.

Haha nefixer lmao. I work in manufacturing as a supplier to machine shops, with my largest end user being Boeing. So I do agree the Japanese are excellent engineers and manufacturers. Japan, Germany, Switzerland, and Italy, are some of the most respected foreign manufacturers. Now not to get to far off subject and this pertains to our cars....the Germans are to proud and stubborn to admit failure. This is across the board and I see it all the time in my industry. I have delt with and worked for Germans, the phrase I hear most often when some thing has failed is "this is not possible". In other words you caused their machine to break!
