My favorites:

Low mileage (is the 98k miles a typo?)
No accidents (why is almost every angle of the car off?)

This car has been in a derby... holy hell. I would hate to see a PPI report on this thing.

This post reminds me of an experience I had this week.

I found an 04 M3 silver on black with 45k miles (found it online). When speaking with the seller, he said this is a third car for his wife, so it dose not get much use, and it's babied. He mentioned he used to run his own auto repair shop, and he is no longer in the auto industry. However, he knows how to maintain a car, and this has been a well maintained car.

I asked him, "since you had your own shop, you should have a good idea of what the car might need, and, I presume you would notice any paint or body work on the car". He told me the body is mint other then the following.
Minor rash on the rims (no big deal to me).
Will need tires in a few thousand miles (again not a deal breaker)
A door ding and scratch on bottom of passenger door (again not a deal breaker).

After I had a PPI done by a reputable BMW place in northern M.A. I found that this well maintained car needs about $2,000 in repairs. All the usual things on an E 46 M (busted coil spring, diff seals leaking, bushings, leaking constant pressure valve, ect).

They additionally pointed out that the tires were not worn, they were past the wear bars. And the bonus.... entire side of the car looks like it was painted at a taxi stand.

Never buy sight unseen without a PPI.
