Is there a service bulletin/recall for reprogramming/flashing the DME for my '97 M3/4/5? Or any other bulletin related to why the smog station couldn't communicate with the OBDII to get fault codes.

I found one for the E46, but not E36. Please help.

I'm thread jacking this question (adding related content) in search of the TIS that mandates DME reprogramming for S52B32 cars that experience chronic evaporative-check-code issues (carbon-canister valve stuck closed).

I have read it with my own eyes, but searching just isn't working for me as I try to find it again.

i was trying to figure out what exactly this conssisted of and why. im assuming its related to the sticker under my gas door.




says 98e-a01 an sd92-091 in the bottom right corner.

Is this the bulletin you are talking about? I am having a evap check code problem, and read a lot about how to fix it. It says a DME re-programming would do the trick...
