Agreed! I'm stock piling interior parts while I do this. I'm having an audio guy come give me a hand next Monday so I don't do anything I shouldn't. Once I get it all ripped out, I'll make an update of all the interior bits I've been ordering. Hopefully I'll have some new seats by then too!

Finally an update! I waited for my orders to come in so I could do a big unboxing...not sure I'll be doing that again since some things take a while to get in and other things come in really quickly.

The most recent parts haul came are exterior trim pieces, door seal, trunk seal, moldings and a few interior bits.

I went with this Continental head unit because I wanted something a little updated but still looking factory-ish. The inspiration for this build is a Singer 911. Now, I know that's completely out of reach but if I can get 1/100th what singer does, I'll be stoked. haha. Gotta have lofty goals, right?

Had to get the BMW Motorsport belts. I also didn't like the fact that the battery was resting on the body, so I got a battery tray. I'll lay a few pieces of rubber to protect it from the body.

I'm soooo stoked for the euro light setup. Thanks to Braymond for part #'s. Btw, shipping from Schmiedmann is awesome!

I took off all of the impact moldings. I'm going to polish the car while they're all off then stick on these new pieces.

My rear panels were toast when I bought the car so I had them re-upholstered at a local shop. I think they turned out pretty good!

Parts from ECS are trim, door sill trim, zhp 5 speed knob (I'm going to run the S54 with the 5 spd for a while). Then I have the Gurney flap from Braymond (MSportParts.Com) for the eventual aero I'll be running.

A few necessities.

Something I should have "unboxed" when I got the package. This would have come in handy a while ago, lol.

eBay find door panels. These *should* fit just fine and they're in great shape.

Door seal (both sides), these things are spendy! Trunk seal too.

Lastly, a little gift sent by the homie at Carsmotology. If you haven't heard of her, check her out, she does great work.

Now time to get the interior put back together, the body in shape, and start on things like suspension, brakes, motor, etc!

Cheers!

How much was it to re-upholstered the rear door cards? Did you provide the material? What was the turnaround time?

Interested in pics of the Continental head unit installed. What speakers are you removing from the car that the previous owner had installed?

I didn't have the vinyl for the rear door cards. I believe it was $200/ea and it took about two weeks. I have no idea if that's a good price or not but I couldn't really find anything on eBay that looked decent.

Yeah, I'm intrested on the Continental unit too! I already took out most of the stuff that the old owner had. They had an amp, a sirius unit and some other stuff. It wasn't too bad.

Man, I'm horrible at taking pictures...but I've been filming!

I'm not sure if you would call this an exterior detail because I'm 100% novice when it comes to use a random orbital, but I went over the entire car, which you can see, here:

After that, I was able to start installing some pieces...finally!

Next on the agenda will be the front bumper, headlights, then on to the interior. I need to order seats ASAP, then I think I'll tackle suspension.

Things are moving in the right direction!

Great project, and I just found those Continental HU's the other day, very interested in seeing it installed.

Wrong door sills for an M3 if you can still exchange them, M3 ones say "M3" whereas the generic motorsport ones just have the "M" - not sure if you'll care but I thought I'd point it out.

I didn't think convertible door panels would fit a coupe but apparently they do so good score.

Pretty sure the carbon sills aren't available with "m3" on them. I'm actually not sure I have ever seen them. Only these and the "BMW motorsport international" ones, which are NLA I believe.
