Just gonna leave this here (a little biased in the picture selection but you get the idea). Blacked corners can actually look good with the right theme (which is rarely done correctly imo). It's when members try to go for the blacked out look yet their cars aren't even black. OG or CB with glossy black corners and matte black grills just makes the car look dirty and cheap.

That's not exactly a fair picture comparison, either :P

CSLs vs poorly taken pictures.

^can't wait for the CSL bumper GB to go through. I'm wanting that bumper!

It's amazing how much on my car is different since these pictures, even though I feel like they're recent.

CF roof
Less shinny wheels.
Gunmetal grills/gills instead of black
... and soon the CSL bumper.

Either way, stealth bulbs help retain a clean, properly executed look.

Clear vs Smoked is a different debate, though. It all depends on the rest of the mods. I've seen too many bone stock E46 M3s with just a matte black grill and it looks treacherous.
The same goes for the cars that only have smoked lights and retain the OEM 18s and stock ride height.
I did both, kept my amber bulbs. They add a nice touch imo. Stealth bulbs are ok for a cheap little mod, a little overrated to me.

yea I mentioned it in the post "biased picture selection". And I did say with the right theme in a good condition car smoked corners can look great. But I can argue this looks with oem corners look better (tho I wish it had chrome grills). Red is a weird color on this car to me, as tho it almost needs darker theme like you have. Like it's too loud but not like an LSB which needs oem grills and corners.

All red m3's I see have blacked out theme maybe they do look bad with chrome/clear. Even this one isn't fully oem...

Agreed about the smoked corners looking especially bad on darker colors.

Call me crazy, but I still prefer the clear corners on imola red (even with black grills). The car looks sort of sinister with the black grills/gills but still classy/bright because of the clear indicators front and back

Not really the best pics..

Saying that you think someones cars looks like shit because its not your style and then providing pictures of stuff you like as proof that its true is kind of against the spirit of this thread. There are very clearly ways to make these cars look good and ways to make them look bad.... in your opinion. Clearly all the posters here are biased to their choices on their car.
And again, clear lenses with bright wheels are fine. Try a dark set of wheels on the same car with black side gills and kidneys, then add the clear corners and it will look odd. As im not a fan of chrome, there is no reason to keep that. All the good pics in the world wont help that. If Ians cars (e46/39) cant convince someone that smoked corners are good, i doubt its possible.

Ambers because savage #ambergang

Smoke doesn't look bad either... neither does clear. I tried all 3. But I would say no for led corners.

...against the spirit of this thread? The thread is entirely opinion-based; if that was directed towards me, all I said was I think the lights/other mods robbed the car of it's charm of being a somewhat older BMW. We're all entitled to our opinions and can share them if we wish especially on threads titled 'what do you think?'

..and then you proceed to give your opinion

Also I wasn't aware it was illegal to link pictures of what we're talking about...
