I have seen trashed BMWs and I have seen this car in person. Rest assured this car is far from trashed. It is okay to stay with the "classic look" but then that means you're staying 100% stock. Not everyone will do this. Such as life...

The stock LED rears look pretty kickass. I think that's why I find everything worse.

Agreed with the above poster that the OE front corners are more in keeping with the pre facelift tails in style.

Interestingly (just noticed looking through pictures), the stock e39 M5 lights are dark all the way front, clears rear.

Very true, to each his own. As long as the car is taken care of, that's what matters! I just have a certain hatred for messing with the stock roundel.. I like the lip too but I find it too busy on the stock bumper with fogs, looks nice on the csl. I assure you my car isn't exactly stock either lol. WOLFN8TR's car is probably cleaner than mine anyway haha

You know what they say about opinions though...

Clear corners with clear/stealth bulbs.

Smoked corners with stealth bulbs.

Either way, stealth bulbs help retain a clean, properly executed look.

Clear vs Smoked is a different debate, though. It all depends on the rest of the mods. I've seen too many bone stock E46 M3s with just a matte black grill and it looks treacherous.
The same goes for the cars that only have smoked lights and retain the OEM 18s and stock ride height.

I agree, the leds look great. Im torn because i want the leds, but then id have to get the smoked version to keep the theme up. And i already own my current lights, so the price is right.

Theyre aftermarket, but yes. Sorry, i didnt mean to imply that they were factory leds that were smoked, I can see how it kind of reads that way. I think a few companies make a version that is just like the oem leds, but smoked.
