Default new member with not quite an M3 here.....

Been lurking for a while, but finally have my car where I want it to be. It doesnt have a WBS VIN or wide fender flares or a beautiful power buldge but it has the heart of an M3 and a few other goodies.

unfortunately since I didnt start with an M3, that means i spent money getting it up to your beginning standards so I dont have the typically M3 upgrades yet of euro headers etc..but I will get there one day.

Hopefully this car doesnt offend anyone on here since its not a true M3.

I love M3s but needed something with 4 doors since I have a son. Purchased this 2003 ZHP 330i last year and picked up a salvage m3 parts car the following month of its purchase and got to work.

I am a little weird and wanted a car that had as many factory options available so I google searched and looked up every possible option that could be retrofitted and got to work.

my car had no premium package, very bare bones so I retrofitted:

Headlight washer system
PDC
Rain/Light sensor system
Power rear sun blind
OEM M3 Power fold mirrors coded with alarm
alarm
triple blink LCM
Power Lumbar system
Natural Brown interior
homelink hidden compass mirror
oem rear door shades
OEM TPMS

modified the M3 cluster to have 4 LEDs for all 4 doors

retrofitted M track mode since my car came with MK60 DSC system

then threw a whole bunch of other parts at it because you only live once right?

Wow!

Impressive work.

No judgement at all for it not being a "genuine" M3. To my mind you've done an awesome job of respecting the M name! I love that you're not straying far from OE, and I think your car is a well executed, unique example of a 4 door M3. This is clearly in the same vein as the well documented M3 wagons that have been converted, it's not some hack job.

Great work and I look forward to following where you go from here :-)

Do you have any plans to do fenders, hood, etc. at some point or are you planning on keeping the external look of the 330?

Thanks!

The car is already been painted so I'm going to leave the fenders alone. I kind of like the idea of respecting the heritage of the zhp performance package 330i sedan look well also embracing the ///M heritage.

I do want to upgrade my roof to a carbon fiber roof replacement next year however.

If I feel the itch to run wider tires and I don't want to run on Lower offset wheel then I may feel inclined to upgrade the and do fender work but currently my fenders are rolled and pulled to accommodate the 18 x 10 et 25 that are on it right now.

Nice one - I like the idea of an M3 on the inside and ZHP on the outside. It's a refreshing change from the posers who do the opposite!!
