The Sport pads that came with my ST-40s are a good pad for weekend driving, back road, and light autocross, but the Street pad is probably better for a DD/around town driving. Think of it like Supersprint's Street, Sport and Race mufflers.

From my experience I would not say the ST ‘street performance’ pads have anything close to exceptional initial bite. It’s actually a bit disconcerting at times. Plus they left deposits all over my rotors which are now tweaked because of it (sitting outside for 5 months didn’t help either)

ST Street pad is no longer the "street high performance pad". Checkout my post above.

Yeah I mean I get that but it’s still relevant info. Have you tried both the pads in question?

If you say the new pad might be more sporty (ie less initially bity) than the street perf pad then I don’t think they’ll have that cold bite of oe, considering the old ones weren’t (aren’t in my case) great

You really need to reread my previous posts. I have the Sport pad which is the old Street Performance Pad. I have not tried the new Street pad, but it is worth a try for Obioban since he is always stating how he dislikes the Sport pad.

When someone mentioned the new stoptech ‘sport’ pad I didn’t expect you to start referring to the street performance pad as the sport pad. My bad for not paying close enough attention

I'm not going to be reading 240 pages of thread. Or maybe I will but I haven't yet.

I just came by to say that, in reading another thread I'm pretty sure I found out that your car (Obioban) is my laptop wallpaper at work. I picked it out by the little stickers in the bottom-driver side of your windshield. Some kind of registration or something.

Small world! Nice car!

I'll be starting a build thread shortly would love to have your input as I go!

lol. It's coming. As seemingly all car projects, things are taking longer than expected

Having a DD M3 in addition to this car have given me huge amounts of patience for projects, happily.
