Burn-in is inherit to the OLED. It can be mitigated, but from what I've read over the years is Samsung has never fully gotten rid of it on their phones. And it sounds like LG/Sony are having issues with it on their TV's as well.

we've had 3 pixels in the family and none had burn-in issues. BUT all 3 developed terminal audio issues due to an issue on the audio board that could result in loss of sound on: bluetooth, headphone jack, phone calls, ear speaker or external speaker, OR microphone stops working. All 3 phones were replaced for this between 6-12months, and my wife's phone had this happen on the replacement phone as well after 6 months with that one, so apparently they never actually fixed the problem.

I have lots of negative opinions about the Pixel if you want me to complain about it more. I personally think it's as bad as the iphone for dumbing down the OS to the point that you don't get any options/customization. But it is a fast phone with great battery life and decent outdoor pictures. I still much prefer my G6 to the pixel.
Any complaints about your G6? Sounds like its a better overall phone than the v20.

so far no, and it's been 1.5 years. BTW, the V30 would be the correct brethren to the G6, the V20 was the counterpart to the G5. It seems like they are abandoning the V series and the G7 is inheriting the good features like the DAC and amp.

If there is nothing wrong with your current phone, perhaps wait for the next generations of mobile phones that will use Qualcomm's next generation processor, which is purported to be more powerful, have powerful AI capability to manipulate ancillary phone functions such as the camera, voice command and other software derived functions, and to top it off, it will use something like 20% or so less power. I currently have a LG V20 and it is good enough to run important apps like MarketWatch, Yahoo Finance, Seeking Alpha, MSN Money, and Fidelity.

Anyone have experience with a galaxy s8 plus? Seems to be the best bang for the buck in a phone with a big battery at $589 shipped, no tax, unlocked direct from Samsung.

I have a note 8 which is basically the smaller version. No complaints from me. I don't run the stock launcher though, which I feel like makes the biggest difference.

I wound up getting a note8 for $650 on prime day, seemed like the best overall value and has all the features I could need or want for the next several years.

Used a friend's S8 over the weekend, pleasantly impressed. Android have come along way in the past few years. Still wouldn't buy one, but get the appeal now.

Samsung has removed a lot of their junk from the OS recently, which has improved their phones quite a lot. The hardware is very nice, but their phones would be even nicer if they had stock android.

maybe it's worth trying a samsung out again now? I had a couple of their early androids back around the gingerbread OS and they were horrible. The other thing that I've never liked about samsung is the cheap plasticky feel they have. Has that been fixed?

I bought a new - open box LG G6 for 205 on ebay last week.

Gotta say, I'm living what I preach with phones. I buy stuff 2-3 models old. I can't imagine spending 700, 800, etc on a phone. What do you get for that money?

I got my s6 for 225 two yrs ago. Its been great, and I'm gonna convert it into a GPS / tool for map apps / long range shooting... Lol.
