Hey guys, do I need to retain the leveling senors for this mod or can I go without?

I think you can get rid of them

Cool. Thx terra!! Found a used module cheaper than replacing all the leveling gear.

Thanks terraphantm!
I got a used LCM off ebay.co.uk and coded it to the car (really easy with BMW Scanner, code mileage, VIN and copy FA/VO data from IKE).
The new one is a C.35 (should have gotten a C.36) so i can also code the BFD (brake force display) options now.

To get all the options including 3x soft blink and rear light DRLs you need C.36
Is this correct:
HW 08 SW:1.3
HW 16 SW 3.01
HW 16 SW 3.11
HW 22 SW 3.56 == C.34 from March 2003
HW 24 SW 3.6 == C.35 from September 2003
HW 25 SW 3.6 == C.35

HW 01 SW 4.0 == C.36 from September 2005
HW 00 SW 4.5 == C.37
HW 01 SW 4.5 == C.37

If you do want automatic headlight vertical aim control it should have "dyn" on the label (like "ECE SA dyn LL m FLC")

Jaap, which one did you get?

I picked up one like this:

It's got rear fogs, which is OK, but it doesn't have automatic lights like my original. Do I need to account for that when programming?

That'll work fine. The auto mode isn't dependent on coding at all

OK, thanks terra.

One more question: do you know of any procedure to aim the headlamps with the manual level? Like where they should be positioned? I'm refurbing mine so they'll need adjustment.

Officially:

Set the adjuster inside the car to 0, aim the headlights to be level via these instructions (or similar), and then you can use the adjuster to dip the beam as necessary.

I prefer to set the adjuster inside to 1 for the default, so that I can aim the headlights both up and down as I please.
