I've been wanting to clear bra the car for quite sometime now and finally got around to getting it taken care of this past week - only took me 2yrs AFTER I got a fresh respray on the damn thing...

A buddy of mine from the E30 M3 scene started an install shop years ago back in my hometown of Sacramento, so I made the trek back up to have the work done. My E36 was an outlier when stacked against all of the other exotics that were getting worked on in his shop, but that didn't stop them from treating it like it was one in the same. Really appreciated their attention to detail, and felt good to support such a rad local business.

I originally went in for my front bumper, but ended up wrapping ~3/4s of the car by the time it left the shop. Good news is, it was worth it and the car looks fantastic. If you're located in nor-cal and are looking for a solid shop to protect your paint, then I'd highly recommend considering Appearance Solutions.

Your rides are just always sooo goood!

What up, gents? It’s been a while and I’ve since changed out/replaced a few things on the car – all of which didn’t necessarily need replacing, but a mild case of OCD argued otherwise..

First up was a new front lip & GT tray. My old set was pretty beat and the tray in particular had some battle damage at the bottom that ended up taking chunks w/ it. One of my buddies picked up a new lip for me as a bday gift and another buddy got me a smoking deal on a replacement tray. Forgot to get pics of the tray before we installed it, but here’s the lip before and a picture of the front bumper w/ that newnew installed:

Next up: door and bumper moldings. Overall, my set wasn’t in horrible shape, but the bumper moldings in particular had some traces of discoloration, so figured they ought to be replaced. And, well, you know.. ‘while you’re in there,’ I figured I’d replace the door moldings too since I was worried they’d mismatch in color if I kept the old stuff on w/ the new.

Here they are mounted up in all their glory:

Last up on the docket is a new set of OEM Yellow Fogs. I had a yellow set on the car, but they were knockoffs and were pretty sh1tty all around. Ain’t nobody got time for that.

Hard to tell here, but tried to capture the Lamin-X that I threw on:

Side-by-side comparison of the brighter yellow knock-offs vs. the darker OEM joints:

Meet my wife. She helped me install these suckers. She’s a boss. Also, you're probably wondering, ‘why in the hell did they remove the bumper to do this?’ Cliff Notes: cheap fog lights and their accompanying brackets are not the biz, so we replaced them before throwing on the new crispy fogs.

OEM vs. garbage:

Mounted like a champ:

::Added Bonus::

My wife and daughter got their hands on this NOS Red E36 M3 GTR made by UT Models to ring in my first Father’s Day. Talk about knowing their target market – couldn’t have asked for a cooler gift.

I liked it so much,, I ended up sourcing a White E36 GTR to round out the set.

All for now.
