No worries, none taken. At 96 I might have laid out the cash but the sunglasses holder was another sixty something and that also played a role in the decision to refinish.

I've got some other mods in the works and you know how it is, have to budget.

Agree 100%. I guess I was lucky as I replaced my entire center console with new for approx $300.00.

If you drill a tiny hole in the back of the door behind the chrome trim, you can stick a pick through there and pop out the chrome tab. Then reinstall after refinishing.

Good idea George. I will do that as it looks better with the Chrome. I wish I would have thought of it before I refinished.

Good diy. I did my centre console like this and it looked identical to new but tougher.
Why did BMW use that awful rubber based stuff ?
