Default Laso water pump: YES or NO?

It is time to change out my water pump as my bearing is going out, I'm at 90k with oem water pump, car isn't leaking just spraying pressure coolant onto the Radiator housing from the water pump, I found a local person selling a laso brand new for 150.. Debating if I should go oem or laso , I need some advice on anybody that's gone laso before .

Thanks guys .

I would go OEM. Haven't heard good things about aftermarket brands in this context.

I second this, never heard anybody with a positive experience. I could be wrong but hey, its your engine.

I normally like to try new shit but, go OEM on this because its somewhat troublesome to have to replace it again fairly soon after..

We've had a lot of positive feedback on the laso, Geba, and Saleri (LINK). I wouldn't hesitate to run any of them in a personal car.

$150 for a BNIB Laso is a killer deal, I'd be all over it.

Stewart does not produce an S54 water pump at this time.

I just went thru the same question and decided to go with OEM. Also, I believe ECS sells a new water pump, while tischer sells a refurbished unit.

ECS, can you confirm that you sell a new unit?

All genuine BMW water pumps for the S54 are considered to be re-manufactured at the current time. BMW has super seeded the "new" pump part number (11517831907) to the "re-manufactured" pump number (11517838159).
