I think i just need the SMG program, is it possible to get just that or i have to get both programs?

Hope to hear from you soon.

The SMG software from ess will definitely help you out with that. Not sure what you mean by both programs? If you just want smg software you can get that separately as it is separated from the vehicles ECU. Shoot roman a PM and he will get you all squared away

The OP's car looks great end of story. There are many other threads in here where people display all kind of hideos mods that take away from the excellent design, the OP has not done that at all and has improved "the look" a little while maintaining OEM look.

There are guys in here that have lost all control of themselves in their modding and at this point are just feeding an addiction and destroying a beautiful car in the process. If you look in a lot of other threads you will find many more cars that are deserving of the critisism that the OP has got, and that I find strange to be honest.

OP just slap a CSL boot lid on there and it would be perfection IMO.

Brilliant. Tons of truth in the above quote. The ESS SMG tune improves the logic of the system. Does it make it perfect? Hell no! But it certainly improves the daily-drivability, especially downshifting.

Another reason why I still prefer m3cutters, over any US forum for enthusiast feedback.

Thank you from way across the pond.

Mike

Edit: From the old posts about this flash not working with another company's ECU flash, that is bologna. I had the ESS ECU and SMG tune from early 2010 until December 2011. I have since "upgraded" to Evolve and the SMG still performs flawlessly. *It also shifts better than the "CSL SMG" flashed units via INPA/EDIABAS* I wanted to believe the at home flash would be the same, but the only thing the "CSL flash" did for the ECU was raise the launch control RPM to 3,800 rpm. The shifts remained the same. Although ESS came up short in the ECU race *IMO* (to bimmerworld and Evolve), their SMG re-flash is still better than the DIY flash or any other software upgrade for the SMG.
