Default Reoccurring cylinder 5 misfire?

I keep getting codes for a misfire in cylinder 5 for ignition coil. I replaced the plugs and coils 15,xxx miles ago during my service. I dont remember the exact mileage, but I think 5k-6k miles back I had my first cylinder 5 misfire code. I swapped out the plug and coil.
Now yesterday I got another code. I haven't looked to see if the coil popped lose or what not. The engine still runs fine, I don't notice a misfire. I'll check when I get off work.

Any ideas?

get new codes...and report back. 15k miles is about the interval at which plugs fail if they're copper..

Perhaps check this:

Get a voltmeter, switch it to the ohm test position, and obtain the resistance value on lead #5 against say #4 or #6. If you get a disparity, this might be your gremlin. I changed mine as preventative maintenance; hell, the thing was 10 years old (or 60 dog years , which is a long time for anything, except geology) when I replaced it a year ago. Anyways, it's here:

I didnt get to mess with it last night, got off late. Started my car this morning and the service engine light was off and stayed off the whole trip to work.

How long has it been since you have had a valve adjustment? It wouldn't be the next easiest troubleshooting but I had continuous cylinder 5 misfires, replaced coils, plugs, injector, voltage was good, and reflashed my dme. Nothing worked but when I got around to my valve adjustment one of the lifters was locked in place because the valve was so far out of tolerance. After that I haven't had a misfire since.

I have only had the car 8months so I wasn't sure the last time the valve adjustment had been done. Judging by the condition of the tolerances it had been a while if never at all.

Around 30,000 miles was the last valve adjustment

My experience with these cars is a soon as 1 coil goes, I replace all 6. Overkill? Heck yeah! But this car does weird stuff so I just employ shock and awe method of repairs.
