Default How to Pass with Supersprint Headers?

Looking to purchase Supersprint V2 Headers from Turner before their Sale ends tonight. What measures have to be taken to pass inspection aside from the sniff test? Is a header tune necessary? Looking to pair up with my SS Race Exhaust. Any help would be great. thanks.

This topic has been discussed many times. Any header tune really. Or you can use ECU worx for $25

I passed catless with no faults

There's 15 years of info on these boards. It's been asked so many times. Just search.

Buy a OBD USB cable and code out the post cat o2 sensors and heater circuits.

If you don't want to deal with coding it yourself, buy the cable and ECUworx will do the dirty work for you.

This obviously wont help with visual inspection, sniff test, or the fact that the emissions guy is going to smell your car from a mile away.

MA is one of the tougher states. You'll need to modify your tune so that the cat check passes even with the O2 sensors wrong, but you'll also need to make sure they read not-ready immediately after clearing (they sometimes check that if suspicious), and you'll also have to change things such that the CVN matches the stock tune (which basically means your checksum needs to be stock -- this can be brute forced).

I donít know what kind of stations youíre going to but I have never, not once, came across a smog employee who gave a single damn if I was cheating or not

I mean the place literally smelled like catless fumes when we were done and not a peep from his mouth

They finally stopped doing them in SC.. b/c basically everyone knew "a guy" who would take $20, and sign the stuff for you doing nothing. Easy for the guy and easy for customer. I'm always surpised when i hear of other states still doing them, I mean I don't think we have them in 15? 20? yrs

*edit removed article was junk*

Yeh we have not had inspections since '95.

that's why inspections vary from state to state/ county to county

in california a smog shop can be heavily fined and lose it's license for looking the other way. i assume this is heavily enforced due to the lack of stations that are willing to do so. at star stations (stations designated to do a more thorough inspection for cars known to be modded) the techs are very well educated on what's stock and not stock. i've had a tech point out that my euro headers and euro cats were illegal (even though OE) because the cats were not where they were supposed to be for a US vehicle
