Default Bray's 2002 M3 Journal

Just acquired a new M3 this week. This makes my fourth E46 M3 and sixth E46.

The car is a 2002 M3 Coupe, JR18872, 142k miles, SMG, TiAg on Black with a full Dinan S2 package. All CA car, 2-owners. Those of you that may of seen it for sale, it was such an incredible deal I was ecstatic to get it. Dealer had NO CLUE what he had or what the Dinan mods were worth. The guy couldn't even operate the SMG.

There were no issues other than corded tires, usual trim decay, wear and tear. No check engine lights, no SMG issues. Extremely filthy though as you will see.

Plans;
-Convert to manual
-Restoration/maintenance to meet my usual quality needs
-Keep as a daily driver to replace my M5
-Pole positions

On to the pics!

This should certainly be a good journal to follow given your previous build journals!

Subscribed!

Is there a reason you do not want to keep it a S2? I would think a S2 would still be super friendly as a daily driver.

There are parts that I like and will keep for now. Other areas I don't really care for.

More updates.

Simple Green and a pressure washer. This is round 1. Needs another go around.

Wheel arches are cleaned, hubs, shock, etc. Still need to attack the liners with a magic eraser.

Seats out, preparing for heated extraction

F*#cking hate audio people...

More work got done today. Underneath the superficial layer of dust and dirt was a really clean car and motor. This is becoming a real pleasure to work on and the car exceeds the condition of far lower mileage examples.

Thermostat was replaced.

New pulleys and belts.

Detailing the drainage parts and installing.

Reattaching the foam that helps keep the structure of the bumper. It had come loose as they typically do.

Fuel Filter

My brother finished the OEM audio reintegration for me. All aftermarket junk is GONE.

Vacuumed and heat extracted the carpets.

Steering wheel, aside from trim wear, has all of it pebble and no pigmentation failures. Cleaned up great.

Dash got a quick wipe down

Damage done today

Congrats on that great pickup man! What a steal, but man that was filthy! She cleaned up excellent and seems to be in great hands.
