Default 2003 @ 50,0000 miles - engine pic

Had a valve adjustment done last week by Kaiv (best M3 tech anywhere!), along with a TurboToy hub install and cam bolt replacement. No broken tabs on the hub, and no thread shearing on the OEM cam bolts - must be due to my clean living (yeah, RIGHT...lol).

Bought the car used 3 years ago in 2010. It was 7 years old with 27K miles on it, and have diligently changed the oil, filter, air filter every 7,500 miles. Been teased by friends as obsessive about my M3 - and I appreciate the complement!

Anyway, just thought I would share a picture of the nice surprise we got when Kaiv popped the valve cover. Very happy to see this at 10+ years old/50K miles!!

If this is the result, I'm sticking with 1/2 interval oil/filter changes!!!

That is awesome, good to know how well the 7500 mile interval works again!

That is very clean. I do the same intervals and at double the miles mine was nowhere near as clean but still pretty damn clean.

Are you using castrol, or some other alternative.

I use Castrol Edge Professional.

For the oil filter, I've been using the OEM filter kit. A few bucks more than the Mann option, but I'm not going to try to hunt down $5 on a oil filter for this car.....Just my personal preference...

5k oil changes are a waste of money. 7500-8000 is where it's at.

Haha. Is that all you've got? A vert shot? Please. Send your 5k oil change to Blackstone for analysis and you might learn a thing or two.
