Default Engine S54 blew up HELP ME....

Very sad day .... My engine blew up today under an acceleration 6k rpm, temp was ok, no noise at all .... Just a lot of smoke.

I got 2 huges wholes on my block doesn't worth to rebuild it

I have read about the rod bearings, I will check if I had the recall done. If I do is BMW having issues after that? In case I don't BMW can cover the costs? I am not sure if there is a period of time to do the recall.

I don't want to believe BMW design an engine that blow up with 35k. Oil was Always castrol changed every 5k.

Please help with your feedack.

Tks

Could of been rod bearing's

Could of been VANOS issues

You need to take it all apart to diagnose it more

Warranty on rod bearings is two years. Mine was performed in 2004, iirc. I just had mine go bad again, I pulled them and replaced them with Calico bearings from VAC.

it's a 2003. I dont have the pictures yet but I will post.

not symptoms, just blew up in a blink of an eye.

do you replace the bearings with some frequency or do you wait for some kind of noise?

for me it's just a very disappointing situation. I don't believe BMW would screw up their customers like that? here is the M reputation?
