Default ▀▄ eas | MY11 M3 - Dinan, Akrapovic, Challenge Race+ X-Pipe [Dyno]

As a continuation from Charles' MY11 M3 from yesterday (see: http://www.m3forum.net/m3forum/showt...post1064860451), the pads were bedded in after the Brembo installation. With some time left over, we quickly strapped the car to our in-house dynojet to see what she's made of:

Engine Mods:
- Akrapovic Slip-On Titanium Exhaust System
- Challenge Race+ Stainless Steel X-Pipe, primary/secondary catalyst & resonator delete
- Dinan Performance Engine Software

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XG4g18HZQAY

Unfortunately, we were unable to get a baseline before the mods were installed.

The end results make for some very impressive power gains on pump fuel (91 octane), with room to spare if more power is desired.

Enjoy!

Not sure if serious? You want power and a flat torque curve (which this engine clearly has!), engine crank torque is of little consequence after that.

If you don't know baseline power, how do you know how much (if any) gains?

Most baselines for the S65 are in the ~350 range, this setup is running very healthy.

It would have been nice to get baseline numbers so we could measure exact gains.

Interesting combination of engine mods. I am just curious to the selection of the Dinan Performance Engine Software. I was under the impression that Dinan s/w are programmed specific to certain Dinan parts. Why not just go with somebody who will have custom s/w for the exact mods on the vehicle?

FYI, if by "multiply by 1.18" you want to reflect an estimated 18% driveline loss, you'd want to do it this way:

RWHP / ((100-18)/100) = RWHP / 0.82

You want to know the starting value your RWHP is X% derived from, not X% increase (which would be X 1.18).

377.67 / 0.82 = ~460.57

460.57 x 82% = ~377.67

Regardless, that's some stellar results!
