Default Lap Times

I searched around for a bit and couldn't find a thread that served as a "reference" for HPDE-style lap times for various tracks around the country.

This is a compilation of M3F lap times for tracks around the US and world. Currently they are sorted by track and listed in the order that they have been posted throughout the thread; I will eventually sort them by lap time so that it's easier for reference.

I will check back periodically and update the list to stay current - this is completely for info only and just for fun! PM me if you see an error or want more/less mods listed next to your time. I tried to pick just the modifications that would really matter for times... people can always refer to sigs / links for full info.

There is a website called drivingevents.com that is supposed to show track times by others with the same car as yours but when you click on the track it just comes up with a blank page

Timing at DEs is severely discouraged or banned for insurance reasons.

I am completely aware of the fact that you can't be timing in the car. That being said, between the fact that probably 50%+ of drivers have video cameras and there being plenty of spectators with timers, it's obvious that people can get times (for info only, obviously) after the fact. I've also seen plenty of people reference / give times on this board. This thread is just for information, not any type of competition

A stock E46 M3 is capable of sub 220s pretty easy.

22s are not bad at all.

Severely? You must be kidding me. While they're not encouraging people to, I'd say 50-75% of DE'ers, including instructors have some sort of timing device in their cars.

A good idea? Not when you're starting out, but severely discouraged?

That would require enforcement, or any kind. Turning a blind eye is not discouraging something.

Just look up the NASA Time Trial (TT) events. They list times for various cars at virtually every track you can think of.

E46 M3's usually fall in the TTB or some sneak in TTC, and those are with most of the mods that most forum members have. Expect your times with a stock car to be anywhere from 4-6 seconds slower per lap, maybe more, maybe less depending on how familiar you are with the track.

But don't let those times fool you, there are slow people in TT too.

2008M3 stock except for pads about 2:17/18, with potenza r11s hit 2:16s. 2:20 is damn fast in an e46, not sure sub 2:20 on street tires would be "easy" at all.

2:18.2 on 255 01R's here. E46 with swaybars and HT-10's. That was the first day out with the car, second day at VIR. I think it runs a second or two quicker with a better driver. And I'm sure with a full season under the belt I could dip into the 17's. There's a fair amount of time to be had on full if you hang it out a bit.

2:22's for a novice, that takes some hustling for sure. Nice laps OP! Build slowly, it's a game of 10ths and inches from there on in!

http://www.trackpedia.com/wiki/Virgi...tional_Raceway

2:16's in a stock 08 is moving. Good to see you guys out there getting it done in stock cars!

C/N: Your username stinks!

Thanks. I can certainly tell it will be way tougher to take the next few seconds off than it was to take the previous 5-10 seconds off. Hopefully the HT-10s will make a noticeable difference for both performance and safety!
