What did you do prep wise besides wire brushing them? Did you hit them with a solution before paint? and how have they been holding up? Did you paint them mounted or did you take the calipers off?

Bump, thinking of doing mine black. Just a simple color and a finish that should repel brake dust. Does the Duplicolor caliper paint kit hold up well?

i used rattle can black Engine paint on my calipers years ago on my first E46 and they held up great. mostly has to do with the cleaning and prepping.

for what it's worth my latest CSL brake kit has them also in black from the factory. i think Black or Silver are the two color choices to go with on stock calipers.

i got fancy and painted the ///M on my calipers since they were already out in in box when i bought the kit. subtle and only can see if you really look inside the spokes. since the M calipers are already embossed with the pattern i gave it a shot.

I painted the same color. Wanted a red color but people talked me out of it since I had little calipers.

Those look good! I guess it's mostly about how well you clean and prep. I might paint the ///M in red or silver.

I really wanted red too but I was convinced as well. I think red looks good if they were Brembos. But they're not so I'm gonna paint them to match the car.
