This makes me surprisingly sad

I request that you do one track event before you sell the car! Porche club of America allows verts to run.

Entertaining read, only because your story somewhat parallels my own. In my case I overcame my propensity for frequent excessive velocities on public roads by forced maturity. I fortunately have a three car garage and now have one of the last BMW Sport Wagons, imported into North America. This is my daily driver and I think I’ll keep my 03 M3 forever, just as a reminder of a bygone era. The last cast iron, naturally aspirated, inline six cylinder engine. The last of the front engine, rear wheel driven cars with a manual transmission. Not to overlook the wonderful feel of hydraulic steering, a minimum of intervening nannies, and a perfectly balanced chassis. AND you can still transport a couple of friends whilst your golf clubs are safely stored in the trunk. Think twice, there will never be another like it.

Doogie!
Noooooooooooooooooooo.
Say it aint so...
Although I can totally empathize with your predicament as relates to the law.
My second grade teacher pegged it on my report card: "Steven has poor self-control."
What's next for the Doogster? My solution is driving a 4 cyl S10 truck around, saving the fast cars only for rare occasions. I pretty much drive the S10 flat out, and no one can tell.

Agreed!

I used to enjoy letting it rip on the highway, but now I just look forward to the next track event. Once you do a track event in your car, "pushing it" on the road just feels "meh".

You guys are better friends than an old goofball like me deserves.

Thank you for the well-wishes and the good advice, for tracking. I did always want to track.

Maybe one day... Maybe one day.

You guys are good men.
