Default Re: Breakthrough discovery about the Spal 30102082 Fan! The Most powerful sealed fan

Quick update- I've been running this fan for about 6 track days including driving to/from events in Socal from LA, and even Laguna once. Running N15 mounts and stock rad- but at the last event the fan finally gave way and I noticed the wires were cut through by the AC compressor wheel/belt. Going to pull it apart to fix the wiring and hopefully relocate it a bit to provide more clearance to prevent this from happening again. It is currently all the way to the passenger side, but maybe I can re-route the wires away from the pulley.

Anyway thought it was interested it lasted about 6 events before wearing through even though I thought I had clearance, hopefully I'll find a permanent fix.

I wish there was something similar to that, but small enough to fit in the automatic/smg display area on the cluster.

Did you check our scan gauge? Smaller display but not certain if it would fit where you want to put it.

Looks like the buttons are built into the unit, so that's not going to work in a cluster.

I’ve been running this fan all summer in 120 heat and it works great. I mounted it on the drivers side, I modified the bracket to be able to move the fan about a half an inch away from the water pump shaft. I drilled some new homes in the bracket and trimmed the corners to allow it to slide over flush with the radiator end caps. I have a Koyorad radiator thou.

Looking up from underneath the car.
