Ugh! what a PIA, so many regrets with this setup

At least it feels and sounds good, gotta get it on a dyno to see how it actually performs.

Just a friendly update, obviously still don't recommend this setup at all.
Thanks for the honest/unbiased update.

I can definitely see that being annoying. I thought it was annoying that you have to remove the pre-filter housing on all CSL airboxes to access the power-steering reservoir (something done much less frequently than oil filter changes). Having to remove the airbox for every oil-filter change would indeed make it more annoying. On the plus side, it's probably a lot easier to remove than the stock box.

Do the OEM and/or reputable replicas also flex so much under throttle? That video is showing the box caving in on itself. I’m sure that original filter was partly to blame.

Karbonius has some flex under vacuum, at least compared to the stock plastic airbox which was ZERO flex. Though, almost no flex compared to the one in question. I suspect this one shown doesn't have any internal brace bars, which are there for precisely that reason.

You can kind of see that little bit of flex I am speaking of, but for the most part, there really isn't any flex present due to the brace bars.

looks to be either choking or just doesn't have any reinforcement inside

For OE, no (or not a perceivable amount). The construction and material used is very rigid:

I've seen older aftermarket units where the clear coat can form cracks over time.
