I first went with Lexan version. It was heavy and leaked due to its own weight and large gap. Took it to the curb and then Bought AJ Hartman CF. better fit and no leaks. Going on a year now. Great fit and finish.

Yeah, it doesn't look bad but it definitely looks unfinished. Not my style. I would cover it with black vinyl so that it became more or less invisible.

And I think the shutter is part of the cassette, no? That said, you could probably take the shutter and secure it to the headliner so that it looked like nothing was different. There's probably room between the sunroof headliner and the CF panel - a gap, even?

The shutter and it's track are part of the cassette.

Figured Iíd post my experience.

As I said I went with the panel from RHR. Piece looks great. I installed it with some clickbond studs, thank you for that suggestion. I used some color matched rtv silicone to seal it. The whole process was fairly straight forward and simple. The worst part is removing and reinstalling the damn headliner. The underside of the panel is not quite as uniform as the other pic I posted and there is a RHR logo painted on it... but Iím still happy with it. This wasnít a beauty mod, it was a weight saving and hole plugging mod. Iíd give the fit a 8/10, the two rear corners just do not sit 100% flush but you can barely tell.

Looks great!

I'm seriously considering this mod now that I have a black car.

Do you have any pics with the headliner installed? (If you used the oem sunroof one)

Looks like a factory sunroof from the outside (a good thing).

The real question is how does it look from the inside once everything is back together. Ideally you wouldn't even know the panel is there.

Yes I am very curious as well, how does it look with sunroof headliner can you use the sliding shade to close it?

I did use the original headliner with the sunroof hole and if you get right up next to it you can see the void where the sunroof cassette used to be. Other than that it looks like a carbon fiber panel in the roof, lol... I'll grab a pic later and post it. Also since the sliding shade mechanism is part of the sunroof cassette, which I removed, I can no longer use the shade.

If youíre going to leave it CF, wouldnít you want the entire roof?

Cool mod for budget track cars, but it looks odd on a street car.

Did you attempt to remove the shade from the cassette?
