Default Bambi Killed, M3 walks away with a black eye...

Today on my way to get my wiring harness replaced, I hit a small deer. It jumped out from the bushes just as I was passing him. He ran right into my fender and I kind of shrugged him off. Looking back now I'm glad I hit him and didn't try to swerve since there was a Honda pilot coming towards me. Damage isn't so bad but still hurts to look at. This is my first time hitting anything in any car so I'm still new to the insurance process. Maybe something good could come out of this...cough csl bumper cough! Lets hear which ones you guys have!

On a brighter note my harness was fixed and now car pulls like mad after installig headers instead of going into limp mode.

Ouch be glad you are okay though and that you did not hit the deer head on.

Good luck with your repairs!

Sorry to see the outcome - but you did the right thing. Avoid swerving to miss wildlife. That can lead to a loss of control and far greater damage or injury.

Glad you're ok this stuff happens. Remember that you need to be clear to your body shop about what you want out of this. Tell them you want everything fixed and a csl bumper as a bumper replacement . If they don't say yes go somewhere else.

Last buddy of mine got almost all of his mods out of a front end collision. Vorsteiner hood, bumper , fogs the whole deal. Remember the body shoppe will rape the insurance for Oem retail pricing. That can pretty much buy any aftermarket mods you want it's just up to the body shoppe as they may not make as much money that way. Good luck!

I didn't know they had deer in Wayne haha. Sorry to see that man. I live in Eastern Pa and have had my share of close calls. A little before I bought my M I had a black E36 and went through the same thing. The only difference was that I hit a 5 point buck (at the least because he was huge) He ran out of bushes when I was traveling about 50mph. Luckily he flipped over the car but in doing so scratched the whole top and the rear. My frame also moved.
