Default Low speed vibration/shudder - anyone had this happen?

I have a vibration/shudder when decelerating in gear. EDIT - Same in neutral.

When I am at 2,000RPM in gear and I let off the gas completely, or if i push in the clutch at those revs, as the car/rpm slows down there is a pretty noticeable shudder/vibration. It makes no noise and cant feel it during acceleration, nor can you feel it when holding a constant speed.

Anyone run into this yet? I'm not currently driving it, I'll be taking it into a good indy mechanic in the area but I want to see if anyone else has run into this first in case its something easily DIYable.

SMG car? If so try the soft reset

I get that sometimes it is the clutch releasing, and normal.

No it's a manual. Forgot to mention it!

First thing you need to do is isolate the vibration. When it's vibrating release the clutch and see if it's still there. Would tell you if it's an engine/accessory or even flywheel vibration. You and release the clutch and put the trans in neutral too and see if anything changes. Try tapping the brakes lightly to see if it's possibly a seized caliper causing a rotor to overheat. You can check the rotors by just feeling for heat just after the vibration stop and feel them all. Careful not to burn yourself though.

I had this happen it was the guibo or flex disk and
My throttle position sensor under the hood were causing
It. The tps sensor wasn't reading trottle inputs
And causing the engine to sputter especially
Off the line in slow speeds any shop wt a good
Diagnostic tool can check the sensor

Nope, like I said above it only does it in gear, not in neutral. Brakes are fine as well. :/

edit: does do it in neutral, just less noticeable since the revs drop quicker

is it only on decel? or do you get it driving casually in the first 3 gears you mentioned? Also a quick check i have seen is seized front calibers alowing the brakes to be applied constantly. Not saying this is a common problem or the actual concern with your car but it takes 5 mins to check if the caliper pistons are moving and not rock solid.

After driving it a bit more I have noticed it happens in neutral as well. If I'm at 2000 RPM and push in the clutch pedal, the virbation occurs as the revs drop. If I am at a stop and rev quickly to 2000 and let off, i notice it slightly as well.

I'm also noticing it in other gears. Most noticeable in 2nd and 5th, but does it in every gear.

68k on the clutch, but as it does it in neutral I doubt that is the issue.

@Taunto - I changed the pads myself a month or so ago and the pistons moved easily.

I dropped the car off at a local BMW dealer this past Tuesday. They called back yesterday saying since the issue occurs in such a short time frame they cannot locate the issue. They want me to pick the car up and keep driving it until the issue is more consistent...

In any case the dealer doesn't inspire confidence. I work at the parts counter at an Audi dealer so I'll be picking up my M today and I'll have one of our techs who used to work for BMW work on it.

Sigh..
