And that it turns both left AND right.

Multifunction refers to steering wheels with airbags as some early models had no airbag as standard, i.e mine

That is very interesting, is the radio stock or an aftermarket? Wondering if it had a frequency difference like Japanese cars do, at least the GT-R did when it landed here.

The FM band in Japan is 76–90 MHz, that is why I had to remove my US version C33 radio, as it does not work in Japan on FM. I bought a C43 radio from a Range Rover, that fits in the M3 perfectly, the Range Rover logo I covered with an M3 logo.
Differences between C33 and C43 Business radio. C33 cannot be changed in frequencies, C43 yes:
Area of Operation: adjusts the AM band, FM band, RDS, and PTY/TP functions for your particular region of the world. Choices include:

- Europe
- USA
- Canada
- OC + RDS
- Japan
- No Area
http://www.eabjr.com/Business-Radio-C33-and-CD43.php

The 90–108 MHz section in Japan was used for analog VHF TV Channels 1, 2 and 3 (each NTSC television channel was 6 MHz wide). The narrowness of the Japanese band (14 MHz compared to slightly more than 20 MHz for the CCIR band) limits the number of FM stations that can be accommodated on the dial.

Hongkong has 87.5 to 108MHz FM Frequency Range.

If someone needs a working C33 US Business Radio version without any pixel probs, including code card, including owners manual, contact me with a reasonable offer by PN. Can ship to any place in the world from Japan.

My car has an aftermarket Alpine head unit, it struggles to tune in to some radio stations, doesnt pick them up easily... not sure if its cause the head unit is faulty or for the reason stated above...
