Thank you! I will find the answer. There is a exact number each year and color. I'm using other resources as well. Would like attach during sale at a reasonable Rob Myers auction.

Speak salty to someone else first, then ask a stupid question.....
Get a salty response from me. That's how things usually work. If you only ask a stupid question first I'm happy to help.

Nice way to introduce yourself to the community. Good luck with your info search and sale at RM Auctions.

Personally, many would pay more for a rare color car than a slicktop. For 90% of people, the sunroof is a functional and desirable option, with the rare exception of a track car build.

westopher is actually a valuable contributor to this community unlike yourself. He has shown good knowledge, common sense and has a beautiful example of an e36 M3. You on the other hand have come on the forum asking a question which i assume is only because you think slick top means your car is absolutely amazing and can ask 3K more for it. If people can find a slick top thats cool, otherwise no-one really gives a shit as the sunroof is awesome for cruising around and track guys replace it with a carbon fiber or fiberglass panel anyway. good luck at the auction, hopefully you run no reserve and it sells for $5K

Don't mess with Wes.

Who cares about the number? A black M3 coupe is not special, regardless if it has a sunroof or not. Even if they made 1.

I would rather have a rare colour combo then no sunroof.

I don't see why you would absolutely be shopping for a slicktop. Yes they are harder to find but don't add anything imho.

I understand the desirability of a slicktop for building a track car, however, unless its paired with some other rarity, like some stupid purple paint, its not going to really add any value to the vehicle, like M_parallel said.

I agree the OP does appear to be a nob.

I disagree that slicktops "don't add anything".

They add lightness at the highest point in the car.
They reduce complexity.
They eliminate a potential source for leaks and corrosion.

Worth looking for IMO.

When I was shopping I wanted a slicktop but a sunroof wouldn't have been a deal breaker. Find a clean sedan is to hard enough.
