Default Recommended Koni SA settings

I noticed the last few drives Iíve been on my suspension feels under dampened on the highways. When the car hits expansion joints at 75 mph the car bounces more than I would like.

I installed new Koni SAs and Eibach pro kit springs, spring of 2017 and replaced all of the bushings with OE parts last winter.

The car feels great on smooth roads and over larger bumps at slow speed.

The front and rear dampers are both set to 1/2 turn up from full soft. There a quite a few threads recommending 1/2 to 1 full turn up from full soft. Any more is supposed to be too firm.

Any advice from people running Konis on daily drivers or people that have experienced this high speed dampening issue? What setting are you running?

Subscribed as I am running a very similar setup (HR OE Sport) with Konis, and I bounce down the road...

I've had mine at 3/4 from full soft for 15 years. (OE Sport spings) It's a fine street car. Yes I would do something different if I took it to a track often, but as a street car, it's fine.

It handles as well as my C7 Z51 corvette does with magnetic ride set to tour mode. Really pretty amazing.

I added eibach pro kit several years after konis. It was the springs(lowering) that increased the ride harshness for me.

I have a Dinan supplied kit with the springs at the default setting. I believe it is 1 1/8 turns from full soft. It works well

That's the same for front and rear?

Yikes I have had mine at full soft for 4 years with H&R sports and was thinking recently its just too soft I need to try this adjustment.

I have had the dinans they are valved different than the off the shelf ones. To me they are softer which makes sense with your settings being set stiffer.

My understanding of the Dinans was they were shock dynoed and matched in pairs and sold as such. No idea if Dinan had special valving. Any historians here know the whole story? I got them on one of their sales at 20% off in 2011 so the price was the same as the off the shelf Konis and pick your spring.

I finally had a chance to take my car out for a good drive after adjusting the dampers. I set mine to 1 full turn up from full soft.

That definitely solved the bouncy suspension at freeway speeds. I didnít feel any increase in ride firmness. I suppose that makes sense because rebound dampening shouldnít affect ride harshness.

I did end up turning the front dampers another half turn to 1.5 turns from full soft because I felt it increased the roll stiffness of the car. For reference, my car is on stock roll bars.

I think for Eibach Pro Kit springs or similar setting the Konis between 1 and 1.5 turns from full soft is optimal.
