the lens really help man. yes i know exposure, have a steady hand, have a pretty decent eye for composition (composition is key I believe over anything regardless of lens)... but still the kit lenses you have are great tools.

the awesome thing about kit lenses is that they are generally pretty wide and wide lenses have more depth of field so you can really get more in focus in one shot for sar shots. wide lenses are usually more favored by car photographers since they are more versatile.

long lenses with shallow depth of fields can become one trick ponies if you start to wear them out so you have just inspired me to get more active with my wider lenses.

appreciate Daytona, loving the new painted pictures. you dont even want to see whatthe picture of my hood looked like before paint and all touched up with filler and primer.. it was scary how much a painter can feel and see that non painters can not.

im not a fan of imola during the day and bright afternoons. only early mornings/sunset and night time. it has more orange tones to it and the depth really comes out with good lighting. thanks!

In the last 48hr's I picked up a 50m. 1.4 and a 55-200mm kit lens. Tomorrow I have a 35mm lined up. Really been enjoying the 50mm as it's challenging me to look for angles that I normally wouldn't go for. Not sure what I'll add next to the collection after the 35mm. Thanks again for the input!

with your kit lenses like the 55-200 f4- 5.6... play with the 200 @ 5.6 and get your car where a back ground is kind of far away... then your picture should have the back ground melting away more with the 20mm focal length.

enjoy and looking forward to the pictures!

It's funny you should mention this, I had just read an article this morning with the same suggestion. This is the shot I'm going after tomorrow AM (better morning lighting than R&T one here)
