Default 1997 E36 M3 - 64,500 miles - Hellrot on Black - Immaculate - TX/FL car

SOLD

1997 M3 Coupe, Hellrot on Black. I bought the car from the 3rd owner at 60,176 mi in November 2015 on the forum (jakeg). Car had resided in Houston, TX it’s whole life before coming to Gainesville, FL under my ownership. Current mileage is 64,5XX and will go up slightly as I still drive the car 1-2 per week. Car has been garaged under my ownership and driven at least once a week. This was not my primary vehicle.

Highlights

• No accidents. All original paint on body panels. Verified all body panels with a paint meter
• DINAN Stage 4 clone – DINAN Front and Rear Strut Brace, Intake, Exhaust, MAF, Throttle Body, Fuel Pressure Regulator, Software
• Koni Yellows on Eibach Springs
• FX35 Projector Highlights
• Interior Condition is A+. Passenger seat bolsters look almost new. Driver bolster has zero cracks, just creases from use. Truly is in amazing condition. Still smells factory fresh
• Completely leak free

The Bad

• Air bag light is on. My shop tried to diagnose the issue and it most likely will need a new airbag to clear the light. It never bothered me but full disclosure.
• A few minor defects in the paint/rock chips on the front and hood. Nothing major. I have detailed the extent of defects in pictures. For a 20 yr old car, they are very minor in my opinion.

Car was originally a Luxury Package car. The 2nd owner changed out the front bumper and added the side skirts. The 3rd owner sourced a full Sport interior from a 40k mile donor – Front seats, front door cards, rear seats with headrests, rear door cards, front center arm/elbow rest, parking brake handle, glovebox, center A/C vent.

Maintenance

The previous owner acquired the car with 59,xxx miles and his goal was to bring the car to factory/new condition. The following is all work that was performed under his ownership:

Suspension refresh consisted of the following:

• Koni Shocks with Eibach Springs
• Vorshlag Front Camber Plates
• Megan Racing Rear Camber Arms
• Rear Shock Mounts
• Front Control Arms
• Front Control Arm Bushings
• Rear Control Arm Bushings – Inner and Outer
• Rear Differential Bushing
• Rear Subframe Bushings
• Spring perches and bump stops
• X-brace
• JTD Underpanel

Engine component refresh consisted of the following:

• New OEM Clutch, Pressure Plate and throwout bearing from Turner
• New rear main seal
• New valve cover gasket and gasket seals
• Guibo Disc
• Drive and A/C belts
• Z3 Radiator
• Stewart Water Pump
• New Steering Rack
• New Steering Rack boots
• Rebuilt A/C control Unit
• New OEM Final Stage Unit

Cosmetic refresh consisted of the following:

• New Sport Leather interior
• ZHP Shift Knob (uninstalled and will go with the car)
• Z3 Short Shifter
• Front and Rear Corners and side Marker* Clear
• New OEM Floor Mats

Since I have acquired the car, the following has been completed:

• Front corners and side markers* Clear
• New OEM BMW Wheel center caps
• Full Redline fluid flush (oil, trans, diff, brake fluid) – January 2016
• Diff Service – January 2016
• OEM Sekurit Windshield, gaskets, cowl, wiper blade arms, and wiper blades – December 2015 (glass had a small crack from previous owner, decided to replace instead of repair)
• Power steering hoses fully replaced (slight leak before) – Fall 2016
• Side skirts repainted. Clear coat was failing. Replaced clips and gasket with new OEM parts – April 2017
• Coolant temperature sensor replaced – April 2017
• Coolant flush – April 2017
• Brake controller replaced – April 2017
• Single stage polish - May 2017

Car comes with the original window sticker and a binder full of receipts and service records.

Original manuals, cassette tape, and 2 keys included

This is a great example of a very clean E36 M3 and they are getting harder to find in this condition. I am selling due to an impending move to Colorado with the possibility of no garage space. Please let me know if you have any questions. I have a binder full of service records, not complete, from the previous owners as well as the work I have done listed above.

That is gorgeous. I don't know why but I actually prefer the fog deletes in black over paint matched.

Some constructive criticism is that taking care of that CEL and airbag light will go a long way in getting that asking price.
If it was jakeG's car you know it's worth the ask, but those can be a bit glaring in a top dollar car.

My thoughts exactly. He's asking close to top dollar money and personally I think people (like myself) are hesitant b/c of it.

Thanks for the feedback westopher! I am looking in to taking care of both the CEL due to secondary air pump delete as well as the airbag light. I did not think that they would be that big of an issue as they were not to me.
