Those Petit shots are really outstanding. We talked about going this year and just didn't happen.

Love the owl. My yard has been a wonderland of cardinals and bluejays lately, but even having the camera near my window... just never seem to grab them.

Thanks again! You going to make it to the 2018 race? We should be there. We have the three spots (end of the row) leading into turn #7. We typically have a pretty large setup, but scaled back a bit in 2017. Not sure how our setup is going to be for 2018. Regardless, let me know if you make it out this year!

Most welcome!

I've been reworking some old photos and rethinking whether I should share some of the stuff I did quasi-professionally.

Way back when in my first real IT job as computer support tech at a think tank in DC, the staff photographer (who is fkn amazing and taught me a ton) was sometimes not able to make an event. Sometimes, like this event, they wanted as many shots as possible of an A-lister, and they asked me to stand in. This was the first time I'd shot anything either moving or people, and it was very rewarding. I have shots of a lot of notable people including our current Sec'y of State, former house speakers (Newt), former kick ass senators (Hagel), environmental heroes (Revkin), etc.

So here's one. I got to meet her and it makes me feel warm inside every time I think about it. The kindest, most gentle person I've ever met, and you get that when talking to her, even if only for a couple of seconds.

Highly recommend MasterClass generally, and hers specifically. Wonderful human being.

Slightly larger version if you click through.

^^Agreed, amazing woman. My wife and her daughter got to meet her when she (Ms Goodall) hosted a chimpanzee camp at the Palm Beach Zoo. Like you, she smiles and recounts that story every time she sees her picture.
