Does this exist ?

I am not afraid of a little routine maint & manual work...
I'm looking for something similar... is this out there?

When I turn the steering wheel and release it at stationary, it will make a really annoying sound inside. It feels like the steering wheel is knocking something. I went to the dealer and they said the noise is from the release of tension and steering wheel going back to the place. I also notice that when I turn the steering wheel at stationary, the engine revs up and bounces between 600~1000 rpm. The dealer said its normal due to power steering gives load to the engine. Do your M3s act the same?
Nope mine does not do that.

I have a 2010 m3 with dct transmission. The car have 74xxx miles. I have had issues with the transmission. At around 50xxx miles I started getting dct warnings. The transmission would go into a safe mode where it would skip gears. The fault codes showed clutch 1 and 2 total failure. When I shut the car off and turned it back on the car ran fine. The transmission also shifts on its own sometimes. I give it throttle while driving and there is a delay then the car upshifts on its own. I had the gts software installed and it didn't solve anything. An indy shop told me I need new clutches because they are worn. But I have never had the transmission slip no matter how hard I accelerate. I think it could be the mechatronics unit. But idk.
The fault codes are
5a41 pressure sensor clutch 1 total failure
5a43 pressure sensor clutch 2 total failure
5a61 selector rod 1/3 fault.

Valve cover gasket oil leak at 37,000. Only have 40,000 on it now. No other big issues. 2011 E93.

Hi Everyone. I have 2008 E92 with 59k miles on it. Recently when I get on freeways, shift into 3rd or 4th and step down harder on the gas I get a service engine soon light and the car goes into limp mode. I usually take the next exit. Turn the engine off and on and then the service light soon and the limp mode go away. It's been temperamental where it happens consistently for a while and then it doesn't happen for 1-2 weeks. I have an Auto Link AL 319 and it registered P155E. I have tried to look this code up and it seems to be anywhere for a spark plug to a throttle actuator. The original owner of the car changed one of the spark plugs at 30k miles. Given that this only happens intermittently just trying to figure out what is going on before I go down for my service 2 in a couple of weeks. Thanks in advance for any info.

You need to read the codes or you are just guessing among a number of possibilities. My guess would be an actuator and that the problem will get worse.

I have a 2008 M3 with 53000 miles lost power with warning, I pulled over and shut the car off and turned it back on and the warning went away. But only for a week. I went to BMW service and have it checked out. It was the throttle actuators, one was bad and the other getting bad I had them both replaced. I did not have the time or knew how to do it. The service manager stated that it is a common problem at around 50,000 miles.

I am looking into getting a shop manual for future problems.

Just got back from mechanic. It was throttle actuator. He wants to replace both. Is it better to replace both? Is there a high likelihood that if one goes bad the other one is bad too? Or should I replace one?
