Try them out. Decent, not great but does the trick.

As long as it’s Saturday, I can make it! Sunday I’ve gotta travel to AZ for work.

Let me know!
FYI - we are still planning to meet in Tysons this Saturday (10th). Wondering if I should start a thread in the regional section here. I don't want the meet to get too large. I have no authorization to use this parking lot, I just decided to have a couple guys meet up on weekend there. We eventually venture into Chickfila for breakfast so I guess the police can't say anything? (I'm no lawyer).

Nice looking car! I was looking at that one on ebay for a long time, I'm just not in a great place to make a big purchase right now.

I'll be there. I think you'll find that even with a post on the regional section, not many (if any) will show up. If things get out of hand, we can always go to my wife's office right around the corner. NBD.

Looking forward to it! Just bought a new Braille Battery - B3121. Hopefully, it will arrive this week so I don't need a jump lol. That would be embarrassing.

This Saturday March 10th. Chick Fil A parking lot in Tysons Corner off route 7. People usually show up around 8/830a and stay for about an 1-1.5hrs. Most of the time we end up sitting in CFA and having breakfast talking cars.

I have around (3) E39 M5 owners confirmed for the weekend. And if you and TJ confirm we'll have (3) E46 M3s.

03.14.2018 - More maintenance

Decided to replace intake filter because when we took it off the other week during VANOS Bulletproof we noticed the intake filter was quite dirty. So I just replaced it this afternoon. Decided to take out the entire intake system to top off the power steering fluid as well, I noticed the level was very low.

Also decided to upgrade Navigation firmware along with adding 2015 CD/Maps. I know the navigation is pretty much worthless with smartphone google maps/waze but it barely cost anything to upgrade and I much rather look at the navigation screen then my phone for directions. Thinking about adding Bluetooth to play music. Any suggestions? I know BMW makes an OEM Aux retrofit so I may go that route.

I also purchased a new VANOS oil pressure line because mine looks corroded and for certain it's the original from 2006. Dave suggested snagging a line and replacing it as preventative so i'll do that next time. I thought I would have time this afternoon to get it done, but it looks a little more invasive then anticipated.

Some bad news I was given over the weekend when I brought the vehicle over to my detailer. He put his paint reader on all the panels to check paint depth and not good... Looks like the whole front clip was resprayed at some point. At least the hood, bumper, driver side fender, driver door. We also found a little rust! Driver side rocker panel near the front wheel well. I haven't decided if my OCD will bring me down the rabbit hole of redoing the whole front clip (correctly), but I'll definitely be addressing the little rust.

Also noticed the brakes are squeaking like a mouse being butchered. I know the front rotors are new, but I assume the pads are some shit brand. I'll probably throw some textar pads on there with anti-squeak in the near future. Along with that I plan on addressing the suspension (refresh).

Belated congratulations! Sounds like lots of similarities to when I bought my ZCP in 2014 from Gary Martin. He'd lent to son and interior got really dirty (sorry Gary if you're reading). Car had been maintained superbly, big plus that helped me pull the trigger. Mine already had leather replacing the alcantara on wheel.

Interested in talking to you about the VANOS and valve adj. I did front rotors and Hawk HPS front pads this summer, happy with them. Looking forward to some basic maintenance and small cosmetic stuff this spring - interior door handle replacement (flaked!) and a little side mirror corrosion starting.

Hope to see you at local event soon, and enjoy the process!
